The UK Student visa (formerly Tier 4 General) allows international students to study at licensed UK universities and colleges. After completing your degree, you can apply for a 2-year Graduate visa to work in the UK.
Who needs this visa: Pakistani students who have received an unconditional offer from a UK university and hold a valid Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number.
Apply to UK universities and receive an unconditional offer letter. Pay the required tuition deposit (usually £1,000–£3,000) to confirm your place and trigger CAS issuance.
Your university issues the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) — a unique reference number required for the visa application. CAS is usually issued within 5–10 working days of deposit payment.
Show you can cover tuition and living costs for the first year of study. Funds must be held in your account for at least 28 consecutive days before applying.
Accepted evidence:
Apply online via the UK government's official portal (gov.uk/student-visa). Create an account, fill in personal details, enter your CAS number, upload documents, and pay the visa fee (£490) plus Immigration Health Surcharge (£776/year of study).
After submitting online, book an appointment at a VFS Global centre in Pakistan to provide fingerprints and a photograph. You can apply up to 6 months before your course start date.
Standard processing: 3–6 weeks from biometrics. Priority service (£500 extra): 5 working days. Super priority (£1,000 extra): next working day (limited locations).
Collect your passport with visa vignette from VFS. Upon arrival in the UK, collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from a designated Post Office within 10 days.

1. Insufficient Funds
Not meeting the minimum required amount, or funds not maintained for the full 28-day period.
Solution: Calculate the exact amount needed before applying. Ensure the balance is stable — no large incoming or outgoing transactions during the 28 days.
2. Invalid or Expired TB Certificate
TB certificate older than 6 months, or from a non-approved clinic.
Solution: Always get your TB test from an IOM-approved clinic. Book it early — results take 3–5 days.
3. Credibility Issues
Inconsistent information between documents, unexplained gaps in education, or weak study plan.
Solution: Prepare a clear personal statement explaining your study choice and career goals. Address any gaps in your application honestly.
4. Incomplete Documents
Missing required documents or uploading low-quality scans.
Solution: Use the checklist above. Upload clear, full-page scans. Double-check every upload before submitting.
5. Previous Immigration Issues
Undisclosed previous visa refusals or overstays.
Solution: Always declare any previous refusals honestly. Our consultants help you frame your history accurately.
✓ Apply Early
Submit 6–8 weeks before your course start date. Never leave it to the last 2 weeks.
✓ Keep Copies of Everything
Save a copy of every document you submit. UK Visas may request additional evidence.
✓ Match Your Documents to Your CAS
Your name, date of birth, and passport number must match exactly across CAS, passport, and bank statements.
✓ Use a Credible Bank
Statements from HBL, Meezan, UBL, or other well-known Pakistani banks are accepted. Ensure statements are stamped and signed.
✗ Don't Manipulate Bank Statements
Sudden large deposits followed by withdrawals raise credibility red flags. Maintain stable balances over months.
✗ Don't Omit Past Refusals
Any previous visa refusal anywhere must be declared. Hiding this information is grounds for automatic rejection and a potential ban.
